The Art & Music Project
This set features one of my favorite bands, Lowertown, performing live at the Georgia Theater in Athens on January 31st, 2024. I recorded and mixed this live set for The Art & Music Project in addition to my final project in my Live Concert Recording course (MBUS 4550).
Recorded with the Georgia Theater’s in-house board straight into Pro Tools.
Listening back, there’s a lot I would change about the mix. I feel as though it needed to sound bigger and more powerful to match the feeling of being there in person. Though the crowd was a little shy, Lowertown absolutely rocked the building’s socks off after all. The live recording will go into the Music Business Program’s radio program where the students of MBUS 4550’s live recordings are publicly broadcast.
